I noticed that Mumsnet has a phone app, but I haven't been able to find one for Gransnet. Does anyone else have one, and how can I aquire it?
Many thanks.

I have never heard of one.

Apart from the fact that I fail to see how an app would be useful for a site like this, there is very little chance of any technical work being done for Gransnet. Let's face it: as over 60s and female, we are invisible not only to the technicians who would have to code the app, but also to the powers that be at GNHQ.

(mainly female - sorry, I know we do have male participants on the site as well)

So - why would I want one?
I usually access GN from my display icons or whatever that is called.
How would this differ?

I think Fairycakes is new and finding her way around this clunky site.
I'm sure her eyes will soon be opened! 😉

The last thing I need is another app on my devices.

No there sent and I see no need personally

I have a thingy on my phone screen. No idea how I got it. I always go to 'I'm on' then Active.

I never use the email links.

It is a clunky site isn’t it? Years out of date but then I don’t really care. Just work with it.

This is a low traffic site, nothing to do with the age or gender of the members, it is simply not popular.

Gransnet is a business without the traffic to encourage high paying advertisers it does not generate the income to warrant spending money on it.

We are more discriminating in our tastes so most of us probably wouldn’t impulse buy. Anyway, we’ve got everything we want. Maybe they actually worked that one out ? Take it as a compliment.

Where is the link to the mobile site please? I am on my phone just now and somehow am on the web version which is difficult to read.

Callistemon21 Fri 03-Nov-23 23:18:34

It should be at the bottom of the page if you scroll down, Doodledog.

Doodledog Fri 03-Nov-23 23:44:39

Thanks. I can’t see it. I wonder if I am on the mobile site and I’m used to the website. It’s tiny print and if I enlarge it I cut off a lot of text. Something is different anyway.

Stop press! I found it grin. Thanks again, Cal

Reported.

The only apps I have are Kindle and Create and Craft. Both are visual. I can't see the point of having an app for this site.

I’ve REPORTED it.
