Yes, ours is under the under blanket/mattress protector. You also need to make sure the tapes holding it in place are really taut.

Like a lot of things see if you get used to it

Under the mattress protector I’ve never felt anything, even the wire to the switch!

Ours was under a thick mattress protector plus a sheet.

Try putting it under a mattress protector
Thick one if needed

MrOops abandoned his as he could feel the wires, I told him he was like the Princess and the pea!

We opted for a fleece one which heats up very quickly, lays on top of the sheet ( you could leave it switched on and actually sleep on it, it’s washable) we pull it off onto the floor when we go to bed.

Have you checked the straps haven’t slipped?
I would be tempted to take it off, straighten it out again and check for kinks or bends.

Less seriously are you sure the puppy hasn’t “buried” his bone underneath it?

I have recently given in and bought an electric underblanket as I am expecting to be disturbed during the night by the arrival of a new puppy and felt that it would be nice to be able to return to a nice warm bed.
It doesn't feel very comfortable as it bunches up and I am able to feel the wires through my brushed cotton fitted sheet.
It wasn't the most expensive but very popular and had good reviews. It has straps that go round the mattress. Is this normal?
