I have a "piched nerve" in my spine, which is very painful. I was wondering if this combination of vitamins would be OK for me.

I have a "pinched nerve" in my spine, which is very painful. I had painkilling injection which I had to pay £450.00 for which didn't work. I was wondering if this combination of vitamins would be any good for me. I also have AMD.

I tried for quite a few months, nearly a year in fact and found it ineffective, decided it was not worth paying for any longer. Tumeric in the higher dosage recommended really upset my stomach so that was out too.

I really notice the difference if I stop taking it..

Theexwife

No trials found that glucosamine sulphate was significantly effective, as compared to a placebo, in improving all the main osteoarthritis-related symptoms (pain, disability and joint stiffness).

Yes Theexwife
That is why it’s not available on NHS. I have quite marked osteoarthritis, similar to my mother. There is some evidence that it may be inherited.
I won’t waste my money on products that have no scientific evidence base.

I also took it for some months hoping it would help my Arthritis but felt no benefit at all.

I think you need to take a daily dose of at least 1000mg to make it worthwhile. I took it fir a few months but didn’t notice much difference but others do.

I take it with MSM and chondroitin. I am sure one pill a day helps me.

I took it for a while, probably be a of the hype, I have lots of osteoarthritis.
It took a while to put it together but it gave me occasional nosebleeds.
Turmeric now, always with black pepper.

I've taken it for years, originally for my creaky knees, and feel fine.
On several occasions I've stopped bothering, thinking I didn't need it, and after a few weeks I could really tell! Back on it again and things gradually get back to normal. So I stay on it now.
I read an article years ago that said it's prescribed by doctors in Germany.

I've taken glucosamine with chondroitin for many, many years. Just wondering if it actually does anything and should I keep on with it. Almost afraid to stop taking it! What do Gransnetters think about glucosamine?
