I am changing my old car soon for a new one. Does anybody know if I have to delete my phone contacts from the old car?

Yes. We always delete all information that we've used through Bluetooth, ie. Addresses (sat nav), phone numbers/names. You can't always rely on the person/garage buying your car to do the right thing.

When you delete your phone from the cars settings all the data should automatically delete.

My phone contacts transfer to the car each time I enter the car and it connects to Bluetooth. They’re not in the car if my phone isn’t in the car. My adult children and teenage grandchildren all have their phones paired with my car Bluetooth. But all I see is a list of their names. All you’d need to do is delete the pairing of your phone with the car’s Bluetooth. Even if you forgot to do so you’d just be leaving your name . Not any phone contents.

Thank you for your replies. I have now deleted the photo images of the four favourites from the screen and understand the rest of the contacts were only ever stored on my phone and not actually on the car’s system.
