Apparently they have longer sperm than elephants. I don’t know if this is a direct comparison or in proportion to their actual size. Funny what new things you learn… they certainly breed quickly though

Every time I buy a new houseplant the blighters start again. I believe they are fungus gnats, and I catch them on yellow sticky traps bought from Amazon. It takes ages to get them all as they are prolific breeders, but after the last one bites the dust I am free of them until I next need to repot something or get a new plant.

You can set a trap with wine in a glass with a sheet of polythene or cling film stretched over it with holes poked in it, but really you have to keep all fruit in the fridge. Ensure your food bin is spotless, I found eggs round the rim.

Put some vinegar into an empty jar or bottle - it will attract the little blighter and they'll drown.........problem sorted.

How do you get rid of these pesky little horrors. Even days after I’ve had some strawberries drying in a colander these things are flying around, coming out of cupboards and bins!
