I’m looking for an exercise video to do at home. Would love to actually attend a class in person but unfortunately I’m not able to commit the time at the moment. Have looked at YouTube but there are so many it totally blew my mind! I’m 63 in reasonable shape, not overweight but have several compression fractures in my spine due to osteoporosis. Any grans out there got any recommendations?

Joe Wickes has exercise videos for Seniors on YouTube. I remember using them during lockdown and they were low impact and easy to follow. If you google you should find them. Hope that this helps.

I tried Yoga with Adrienne during lockdown and found it easy to follow

I have an old Diana Moran (The Green Goddess) DVD called Easy Fit which I picked up in a charity shop. It is exercise for the Over 50s, some of it you can do from a chair and it strengthens muscles and improves flexibility.

She is now about 84 and looks fantastic and exercises every day. She says there is no need to go crazy like some of these fitness teachers do. Just regular gentle exercise.

I have seen these on Ebay too.

I like the fabulous 50’s videos. ( even though I’m 70!). Fun & encouraging & not too difficult

Thanks, will definitely check out your suggestions. Gives me a good place to start among the millions available,!,

Another good one to try is Strong After Sixty on YouTube, Rosemary Mallace

I like Leslie Sansone’s walking based exercises. I found them during lockdown and have followed her on and off since. They can be as gentle or challenging as you like.

I also do some of the NHS workouts, though there isn’t a great deal of variety there so just tag a 10 minute slot onto the end of a walk.
It’s good to ring the changes so I’ll be looking at some of the suggestions above too, thanks.

I also discovered Leslie Sansone during lockdown and have been doing them ever since. They vary from 20 minutes to 5 miles and are suitable for all fitness levels. My daily one is usually the 3 mile workout, takes 30-40 minutes.

I quite like The Girl with the Pilates Mat on you tube. She does lots of senior ones and also standing Pilates for those who struggle on the floor or getting up and down.

My daft husband honestly thought pilates was actually called pirates untill we put him right. 😳 For a clever man he is sometimes very twitty. 🤭

Jessica Valant Pilates on You Tube is very good. She has many videos ranging from beginners to advanced, quick 15 mins, or full work outs. You can do full body workouts, or specific areas if you have problems and need to strengthen any specific area, such as arms, legs, back, hips, abs, etc. She's very knowledgeable and gives lots of advice. She also has very interesting and informative podcasts that are very good too.

There are some good chair yoga apps.
