Has anyone tried Xero shoes?

I haven't seen Xero shoes, but I have ordered a pair of PureStep barefoot boots which are out for delivery. I should receive them in the next 2 or 3 days.
The reason I'm trying them is because of a tailor's bunion that I have developed. I need a wide toe box and these boots have good reviews.

They are advertised as being very comfortable, with a wide toe box. They only seem to be available online, and they are quite expensive. Has anyone tried them? Would you recommend? Thanks
