I understand you can post it freepost but you cant get proof of postage as there isn't a postcode on the address. Also I read you can take the form into a local benefit office. The reason I'm a little concerned is someone we know had their forms lost in the post, (supposedly) and I'm wondering which is the best option. Anyone any thoughts? Thank you.

Registered post, I think, is the best.

It means you can track the envelope on its journey, and it gives you an exact time that it was delivered, and a copy of the signature from the person who signed for it.

It cost me (last week) £5.20 odd.

I agree, I sent mine via registered post and a few days later I received an email to say it was in the correct department. I think it is worth it for a fiver.

I was told it would take 3 months before a decision would be made but I knew after 6 weeks.

I had to have a review (reapply) in September and sent the forms in by registered post just to be sure. I received their response within four weeks. Good luck to those of you who are currently waiting for decisions.

So you can still send something registered post if it has no postcode on? I was under the impression you couldn't do that. I'll nip (2 mile hike) to the post office tomorrow!
PS the form isn't for me in case anyone's wondering about the 2 mile hike! :-)

We took a copy of ours before we sent it; just the pages we had filled in, not all of them. We used the photocopier at the library.
The form arrived just fine, though I was relieved to get the email saying so.
Good luck with your application.

lixy - I have a copy of the pdf file on my laptop and on an external usb stick. I am very careful with these things! Thanks for the good luck wishes.

Make a copy of the forms to keep and send the others registered.
