Unfathomable Wording on Council websites

This one is too funny for words, I was helping a relative to apply for a visitor parking permit & found this !
It truly makes the mind boggle as to why a ‘ new born’ would need a parking permit or more to the point ‘why’ the powers that be include ‘ new borns’ at all !!! NB: this was on the residents parking permit site not on anything to do with children/childcare / nursery school or anything else to do with children !

“for free permits - proof of age (for 'over 60's'), birth certificate or hospital birth record (for new borns).”

If there is a newborn in a family applying for a parking permit that family is given extra hours of parking. I don't know how you failed to read that.

"Households with a new born baby up to 3 months old are automatically entitled to 30 free additional visitor parking hours per 12 month period"

Possibly because it never said that !
How on earth would I be expected to know that you get additional foc parking for a newborn !
I apply online for my own parking permits in a different county
1 -We do not get them foc at all
2- The wording that you have pasted is from a totally different council website, I imagine .

Waltham Forest says something like that oldfrill

Where are you NanaTuesday?
Surely someone is getting free permits as you are quoting from somewhere
for free permits - proof of age (for 'over 60's')

Not spaghetti ,
Bizarrely it was WF that I was looking at 👌how weirdos that !!!
I’ve now been back & read the rest of the jargon etc Oldfrill & concede the fact re ‘ newborns’
However by skimming as I did in trying to help it came across as odd .

Ha ha!

If you are over 60 NanaTuesday it might be worth going back again to see if you qualify for free permits after all!

Fingers crossed 🤞

Indeed , I’m not in London it seems there are a few over 60 perks in old London Town .👌 I have checked as our council charge £70 per year per resident permit thats up from £50 in previous years . £50 for visitors & tbh have not bothered getting one this year . All of our visitors are at weekends & or evening & I can confirm the ‘one’ parking warden for our whole area is far too busy in the city .
