Spa Days/Weekends - Xmas gift advice

I need advice from those of you that have visited any spas in the South West and could recommend one.

I have no idea what to buy my 2 daughters and thought maybe I could buy them a spa visit that they could go to together.

I have never been to one myself. Is a day visit a good idea or does it need to be an overnight stay to make it special? Is it best to book direct or are those "Experience Day" sites good value?

Thanks for any advice - I am a bit clueless this year about what to get them. When I ask they tell me not to worry about Christmas but I want get something they will enjoy.

That sounds a great idea. I’m in the South East, so unable to recommend a particular location. This is a gift we’ve given to our girls, and I have received too. A day should be plenty of time to enjoy the spa, maybe a treatment or two and lunch or afternoon tea. 😊

A lovely gift idea.

I am not in the South West, if I was you I would Google hotels in the area with Spas, they should have photos and a description of treatments available.

A good one will sell gift vouchers so your daughters can choose treatments themselves. If you feel flush adding afternoon tea or a light lunch would be a really lovely thing to do.

I have no ideas about Spa in your area, I'm afraid, but my DD and I have quite often given spa days to each other as gifts over the past few years. Just a whole or part day one usually really nice, an overnighter sounds good, too if the recipient has the time to spare.

The usual offer is one or two 'treatments', a drink, sometimes a lunch or afternoon tea, plus use of facilities, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool and possibly more. We love them grin

It's getting more difficult to book direct but sometimes the big booking sites have good offers .

I'd ask around for recommendations if possible and take it from there. If none forthcoming, look on line. I'm sure your daughters will enjoy whatever you get for them.

How far west do you mean? I've been to a couple of spa days at Harbour Hotels in Devon/Cornwall.
They have indoor pools too, and usually nice sea views.
There's a spa at St. Endonocs in Rock, fine dining too, but no indoor pool.
I'd leave your daughters to choose when because rates and treatments vary depending what they choose to do.

You could buy from Buy a Gift, it would be valid for many different spa experiences from all around the country, then they could choose where to go.

I forgot, Woodbury Park too.

We love spa days and have 4 or 5 each year. I would think they would be an ideal present for your daughters.

Unfotunately we do not live in the SW so cannot recommend any in your area.
