Alexa
TV/Radio I’m counting this as one
Shower
Nespresso machine.
Soft rug to wrap round me whilst watching the telly.

Maybe you could add what your Mum would have chosen.

We took our Alexa on holiday and linked it up to the WiFi in the cottage 👍

Neilspurgeon, I love my Alexas - we have one in most rooms. It is linked to my Ring Doorbell, I use it to remind me to do things, time cooking, answer queries, display photos, play radio and music playlists. And, it can play any music I ask for - not just the CDs I happen to have.

Other people will use it for other things.

I don't need or want any of the things in the OP, except a shower. Horses for courses.

I don't drink coffee or watch TV, I only read books on my Kindle. Actually rarely use my laptop these days, although for things like printing out address labels for my Christmas post I will certainly have to boot it up.

My 5 would be

Kettle
Washing machine
Phone
The walnut tree in the garden (in summer) and a hot water bottle (in winter)
At least one sofa to escape to when DH snores too loudly

Juicylucy Mon 02-Dec-24 23:08:56

Air fryer
Kettle
Straighteners
Candles
Lounge suits

MissAdventure Mon 02-Dec-24 22:14:02

Most unlike me to forget food!

It'll have to be all cold food, too.

MissAdventure

Somewhere warm to sleep.
Something to sit on.
Something to have wash in.
Something to wash clothes in.
Some way of drying them.

Totally agree, but may I add food to eat?

Thank you Lilyflower for your advice.

A friend gave me a gilet she had spare, that her daughter sent her from Denver America, where it can get very Parky. My friend has now died and whenever I wear it I think of her.

Lilyflower Mon 02-Dec-24 19:28:26

NanKate, you can get heated everything. I have a heated gilet from a company called Ororo and and am getting heated gloves for Christmas . It’s a game changer for a Reynaud’s Syndrome sufferer like me but anyone could benefit from.
