Never mind about Storm Durrah , though I hope everyone is ok 👌

Last week end we had 2 pre Christmas/ birthday gatherings both on the same day , in two separate counties . Typical, but we put together a plan one was for lunch at a garden centre Bedfordshire & the other afternoon party games & dinner in Hertfordshire. Two different sides of our joint family.
Pleased to say we managed both unlike this week the weather was mild & my DS offered to stay with his 3 pups & our 2 pampered pooches until at least an hour before we would be due home & we took my GD with us .
Come the evening (7pm) my DH was being driven to A&E with a suspected DVT as diagnosed by my DD a nurse of some 20plus years . Scans, bloods x rays he arrived home at 3 am armed with self medicating injections plus advise to attend the next day . My SIL & DDx2 gave up their bed & accommodated us ( beds had already been reassigned due to DDx1 SIL & GGD plus Grandad ) so far so good .
Next day , we had massive issues trying to find a pharmacy both open & able to fill the prescription. Finally a well know. nationwide branch in our home town advised they would order it in for us .
Luckily enough when DH went to the Hospital ( Watford ) on Sunday he was given enough for the next few days . Which as it turned out was great as we never did get that promised order from Boots . Still thinking it is really bad that no one could offer the required prescription.
DH decided to keep his next appointment at the same Hospital to keep things simple & drove back a few days later . More Scansm X-rays & blood Tests oh & different meds . Waiting for the results & next steps .
Fast forward to this weekend , another county another hospital or three .
Friday DDx1 Suffered a dog bite ‼️ She was staying at a freinds & he attacked her, cornered her after biting her & during this she dropped her phone that she had started to use to call for help, Said phone ended up in the dog bed with dog sitting in the bed ‼️
Dog btw is a little Sausage dog . Though he may actually be sausages by Monday .
DD got the help she needed left dog locked in one room & a Friday night trip to rammed A&E @Southend Hospital . He had bitten right through her hand & she needed further attention the next day at Chelmsford Hospital which although in the same county as where she was staying it’s an hours drive from her home .
She is present still thereafter being admitted yesterday & awaitng a procedure’ Flexor Sheath Washout’ Obviously it’s the week end & staffing is not. 100%also yesterday she was told there were also SIX , Yes SIX other dog bite patients … all children plus a human bite ‼️
So praise indeed for the NHS from our family , yes both patients have had long waits & my DH had his entry mislaid so was waiting even longer . That apart ,no complaints .
We just need to hope that DDx1 has no long term trauma to her hand 🤚
Apologies for the lengthy post .

NanaTuesday I assume that your DD is in Chelmsford Plastic Surgery unit, they are excellent there.

We second your sentiments. We have also had excellent treatment from NHS hospitals recently, Stoke Mandeville, Watford and Hemel Hempstead for various [unwanted and unasked for] ailments, still on-going.
Despite a wait of 7 hours for a scheduled day surgery operation, and the same number of hours in A+E after a ghastly accident, staff were exemplary - kind, considerate, helpful, smiling and above all, efficient. We have already given each hospital positive feedback, as they deserve it.

Countessfosco,
Yes she is & she is being treated very well. I believe that she would be Chelmsford even if she had been at her own home as like you say they have the plastics unit .

Coincidently , This is the 2nd time my DD has been treated at this hospital. The last time was some 14 years ago , we lived in Bedfordshire ( now in Cambridgeshire) & he was involved in a serious RTA on M25 with four of his GC in the car 🚗.
All were ok & again treated very well .👌

Yes I had trouble with one of my hearing aids. Rang the company supplying for the nhs, had appt in 5days problem sorted out and the audiologist said if Dr referred me could have new ones that link to blue tooth and transfer phone calls to my aids.
Despite being only 2 years old.
I was amazed.
