How do I tag someone and copy their comment?

I am quite new to Gransnet. I enjoy reading a variety of threads and occasionally comment. However I sometimes want to comment to someone who wrote something earlier and is already way higher on the thread.
I have tried Googling my question to no avail.
I’m on an iPad by the way.

If you click on "quote" in the grey line, where it says Add comment/ReportPrivate Message/, then write your post, it should show before your message, it should show.
Is that what you mean?

Also how do I make someone’s name in bold so they know I am referring to that particular person?

Just type a * immediately before and after the word you want to write in bold.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for the heading 'Emphasis', you will see how to do bold, italics, underline and strikethrough.

To put text in bold on iPad, just put a * (asterisk) directly in front of the word (no space), add the word(s) then add another * (again, no space).

4xGranny These things (and more) are explained where you typed your first comment, and replied to other people's comments. Look further down than the text box that you typed into. There are lots of emojis there to use too.
