I think that's a good link. And it's your "home town" and you have a network of friends

My son still lives in the area

I helped someone apply some years ago.
They were successful and were offered a very nice flat with communal gardens.

If you still have links to the area that would be good.

You may have to prove a connection to the area. Good luck.

Depending on the local authority, you might not be eligible as you have not established a local connection as your current home is elsewhere. But make an application anyway, nothing to lose.

The sooner you get on to it the better. Good luck

The success of your application will depend very much on your personal circumstances and the length of the waiting list in your chosen area. Different councils/ housing associations have different policies so you will need to research what’s available in that particular town. Generally housing of any sort is in short supply.

I would like to return to my home town to be near my family. Many of my old school friends are in over 50s council accommodation and I'm thinking of applying
Just wondering if anyone else has done the same
