I know I've posted about this before ,it's that time of year again.
As previously I've not received any letters regarding pension increase etc
Ive phoned several times about this.
My question is
Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm reluctant to pursue as scared if the call handler were to press the wrong button I will be without pension.
I have no faith. The only letter I received was the initial one, years ago , stating the initial amount.
Thus was after many phone calls as I never got the application firm and couldn't apply on line(long story, wouldn't verify me etc)
I get the same pension as my husband so know the amount.
Thanks for reading my rant.

Fully agree Mae.

4allweknow Tue 04-Mar-25 13:55:16

Got mine 3 weeks ago. Perhaps it's issue is linked to Nat Ins number.

I’m with you, she has proven to be an awful chancellor and as for the mythical black hole the OBR has clearly stated it doesn’t exist

Cumbrian123 Tue 04-Mar-25 14:09:06

I’m with you too Mae.

No they haven't. They disagreed on the amount.

Have had my letter for a couple of weeks now. However still awaiting a reply as to whether I'm entitled to a pension increase based on my late husband's contributions. First wrote about 2 yrs ago and sent a couple of reminders, tried ringing only to be told it was being looked into., eventually gave up which is probably what they rely upon.

rafichagran Tue 04-Mar-25 14:58:02

I got mine a couple of weeks ago, my partner who is at the other end of the alphabet has not got his yet.
To be fair slating of DWP, because you have not got a letter and because someone may push a wrong button deliberately is silly and a bit ignorant.

rafichagran Tue 04-Mar-25 15:04:12

Mistakenly not deliberately.

Cabbie21 Tue 04-Mar-25 15:30:29

My letter arrived last week, but the full increase does not apply to all segments of my pension, only the basic element.

Hope you are not relying on a big increase. In my experience it will not buy a loaf of bread.

Mmmm your bread must be very expensive if £30 won’t buy you one each month grin

You must get a big pension!! shock

My DH has had his today and I've torn it up.

£10 a week is an insult when we've had the WFA taken away.

£10 a week? shock

62Granny Tue 04-Mar-25 15:51:52

My DH had his well over a month ago but I only had mine last week, it doesn't come in till 7th of April but I don't get the increase untill my May payment, I think they do it by year you were born my DH is 3 years older than me.

wibblywobblywobblebottom Tue 04-Mar-25 16:30:07

Wouldn't surprise me if Robber Reeves has diverted any pension increase towards the 22billion Black Hole she's been using as an all-purpose excuse to give pensioners a good kicking.....

Oh do get a grip my dear. Your pension and your increase will appear in your bank account next payment after April.

Fear not, she cannot nick or divert your pension. grin

Because the Personal Tax Allowance has been frozen since 2019 (and they say will continue to be), this increase has pushed a lot of pensioners into paying income tax. So Reeves will get some of the increase back.

Bonnybanko Tue 04-Mar-25 18:27:16

No letter just yet hope it comes soon

dollydaydream68 Tue 04-Mar-25 18:46:41

I'm not being silly or ignorant. Mearly saying that I find it extremely irritating that I never get any communication from DWP.
If you think that's slating ??

I

dollydaydream68 Tue 04-Mar-25 18:48:30

You've never had any problems I'm assuming Rafichagran ?

Astitchintime Tue 04-Mar-25 18:57:16

OH has had a letter but I have not - different surnames. But I don't see how making an enquiry by phoning hem would result in you not getting your pension......rather silly IMO

Usedtobeblonde Tue 04-Mar-25 19:46:00

I don’t understand why you haven’t received any pension due to you from your late H’s pension knspol unless none is due, but 2 years is a long time for them to tell you that.
I received an element of my late H’s pension entitlement within weeks of his death.
It was sorted from the Tell me once form which I received when I registered his death.

BlueBelle Tue 04-Mar-25 19:53:42

Well I m getting £1,50 a week (plus 38p a week for reaching 80)

EEJit Tue 04-Mar-25 20:02:06

I got my letter this morning

Juicylucy Tue 04-Mar-25 22:46:21

Every time there’s an increase I get my letter months in advance and my friend who’s same age as me never receives her letter.

38p? shock
I thought it was 25p pw! You're one lucky person 😁

Allira Tue 04-Mar-25 23:08:17

An exciting 25p pw to look forward to as a birthday present this year.

Should it be 38p? Should I complain?

I have received my letters re. Pension Credit and Attendance Allowance increases, but not the one for my basic State Pension. It will arrive in due course, no point in wasting people's time with phoning about it. Some years letters arrive during April, after increases actually start.
I keep a very firm control of my income, so until I get actual notification of the amount I am unable to complete my chart that I have showing how much I receive weekly, monthly, annually.

Micawber-like, provided the income is more than the outgoings then I am happy.
