DWP again

I know I've posted about this before ,it's that time of year again.
As previously I've not received any letters regarding pension increase etc
Ive phoned several times about this.
My question is
Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm reluctant to pursue as scared if the call handler were to press the wrong button I will be without pension.
I have no faith. The only letter I received was the initial one, years ago , stating the initial amount.
Thus was after many phone calls as I never got the application firm and couldn't apply on line(long story, wouldn't verify me etc)
I get the same pension as my husband so know the amount.
Thanks for reading my rant.

Mistakenly not deliberately.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago, my partner who is at the other end of the alphabet has not got his yet.
To be fair slating of DWP, because you have not got a letter and because someone may push a wrong button deliberately is silly and a bit ignorant.

Have had my letter for a couple of weeks now. However still awaiting a reply as to whether I'm entitled to a pension increase based on my late husband's contributions. First wrote about 2 yrs ago and sent a couple of reminders, tried ringing only to be told it was being looked into., eventually gave up which is probably what they rely upon.

I’m with you, she has proven to be an awful chancellor and as for the mythical black hole the OBR has clearly stated it doesn’t exist

No they haven't. They disagreed on the amount.

I’m with you too Mae.

Got mine 3 weeks ago. Perhaps it's issue is linked to Nat Ins number.

Fully agree Mae.

i got my letter last week but i had an email from hmrc about my tax code two weeks before that - quick off the msrk or what!
i'm on the old state pension so my rise won't benefit me much.
i'm waiting for a letter about my dla which will go up by the same percentage of my state pension but i've yet to hear from my occupational pension providers but it's early days for them.

I think you should speak to DWP change of circumstances. 2 years ago my pension was stopped. Long story short, on phoning DWP, they had mistakenly changed my address from England to somewhere in Wales in 2021. As I hadn’t responded to any letters they stopped the pension so of course I rang them. It took the intervention of my MP to sort it all out. So mistakes do happen. Don’t ignore lack of letters like I did.
Good luck

£10 a week is more than the WFA.

Yes, but people love a good moan about getting extra money, too!

To be fair whenever my SP goes up my PP goes down and I pay more tax- so not exprecting it to make much of a difference...

Wouldn't surprise me if Robber Reeves has diverted any pension increase towards the 22billion Black Hole she's been using as an all-purpose excuse to give pensioners a good kicking.....

Not helpful comment

TwiceAsNice Mon 03-Mar-25 14:17:39

Received mine 2 weeks ago it equates to £30 something extra per 4 weeks.

Usedtobeblonde Mon 03-Mar-25 14:10:31

I also got my new tax code within days after my state pension letter.
It is amazing how quickly HMRC can work that out but take ages to reply to queries 😉

Millie22 Mon 03-Mar-25 14:08:40

My DH has had his today and I've torn it up.

£10 a week is an insult when we've had the WFA taken away.

sharon103 Mon 03-Mar-25 14:07:16

I've not had a letter yet.
I've read that according to your payment date you will get some of the rise an April and the full amount in May.

Marydoll Mon 03-Mar-25 13:59:40

I have already received my letter, but don't really need it. DH, who is older than me, received his two weeks after after me.
Once I know what percetage increase is, I work it out.
Retirees who receive the full new state pension will see their payments rise to £230.25 a week, or £11,973 a year, for 2025-26, with the increase taking effect in April. These amounts apply to those who reached state pension age after April 2016 and have the full 35 qualifying years of National Insurance contributions.13 Feb 2025

HMRC, we're also quick to inform me of a change in my tax code, which will affect my occupational pension.

You win some, you lose some.

OldFrill Mon 03-Mar-25 13:51:33

You can have my letter, l really don't need to receive one.

Sillymoo Mon 03-Mar-25 13:43:41

Got mine on Friday, partner got his a while ago.

Silverbrooks Mon 03-Mar-25 13:37:38

I received my letter telling me of my new rate of pension about a month ago.

DWP advisers suggest callers contact the Change team for all kinds of reasons that don't feel like a change. Telling them that you are not receiving standards letters might count as a change. The DWP works in mysterious ways.

The rise is 4.1%.

I think you are right Cossy. My name is very near the start of the alphabet and my NINo suffix means I get my SP on Mondays so I think I must be in the early batches.

Jaxjacky Mon 03-Mar-25 13:37:22

I only get a letter occasionally, I’m happy with an email, less paper waste as it gets shredded in the bin immediately

Cossy Mon 03-Mar-25 13:32:20

Boz

Hope you are not relying on a big increase. In my experience it will not buy a loaf of bread.

Mmmm your bread must be very expensive if £30 won’t buy you one each month grin

Oh do get a grip my dear. Your pension and your increase will appear in your bank account next payment after April.

Fear not, she cannot nick or divert your pension. grin

Cossy Mon 03-Mar-25 13:28:41

I received my letter today, my husband two weeks ago, think they are sent in batches and according to NI number

Good luck, the call centre cannot “press the wrong button” and cancel your pension, please don’t worry
