Tin v plastic

Oops, continuing; for themselves. Some members prefer biscuits eg digestive, custard creams type. Unfortunately the members are not good at putting biscuits in or closing storage canisters. I am trying to find a tin type container as there would be no need to clip the tin shut, only put the lid back on. I've searched local stores, supermarkets but can't find any suitable food item sold in a tin that I can empty and then use for the biscuits hoping to stop them going stale or soft.

They’re not children!

But then I'll be eating soft biscuits when I have a cuppa too. Yes, they are not children, some though have learning, physical disability, mental health issues so I have to tread carefully as some could feel they are being reprimanded and would be upset or stop going to the meetings.

Take your own biscuits in your hand bag each time and let them get on with eating the soft ones
I doubt you ll find anything that closes itself whether it’s tin glass or plastic all containers need a hand to shut it and if they don’t naturally do it they probably won’t whatever container they re in

Or go round and keep shutting the tin yourself.

Surely as long as it’s closed at the end they won’t be too bad?

This is typical of so many people....a slapdash attitude to everything.
I have a similar problem with regards to the re-cycling bins where I live. It's communal and many people can't be bothered to put the right items in the correct bin.

You need a tin with a spring-loaded lid!!

Any old tin with a printed label stuck on the lid - big bold capital letters PLEASE REPLACE THE LID!.
And underneath, ‘Properly!’

I have an old fashioned biscuit tin , it has a detachable bit in the lid that. has stuff to keep the contents dry , it goes in the oven now and again to reactivate , maybe too small for a group though
We have biscuits at our Art group and they are in the wrapper with a clip to keep them fresh and then in a tin
But at our Wednesday club they are in a tin , they go soft ! Even with the lid on properly

The OP says the group have various issues, and might not come if they feel they are being reprimanded.

Tins of biscuits are only usually available at Christmas time. Buy an empty tin, after experimenting with the lid first.
