A lot of schools can’t afford to test but if you pay to get a private assessment they have to take note of the results. Best to get sorted before she goes to secondary school so she has an education plan in place.

Loubyloo at 10 years, this is a good age for a school to be aware and testing for ADHD . This will mean your granddaughter will get any extra help she may need when she transfers to secondary education.
From experience, children with this diagnosis may lack some social skills, others are prone to anxiety but the majority lead a happy normal life. Being aware of any additional needs and just loving your granddaughter will be just fine.

All I know is the assessment takes ages- years sometimes depending where you live. I know many parents resort to having assessments done privately.

I would say your GD is till the same person, so treat her as such and not as an acronym.

It’s been suggested that my 10 year old granddaughter needs testing for ADHD. Feeling worried for her. Does anyone have experience of grands with ADHD that they can share please?
