Help wanted ref Inflatable double air bed

I've checked online and our self-inflatable camping mats are still available but 'Out of stock'.

There are several, newer ones around though. Have a look at The Vango Shrangri-La sleeping mats.
They are all rather expensive now. We've had ours for at least 10 years - they have been worth the cost.

Wouldn't recommend it for anyone over 40.

We take one with us when we go to stay with family who don’t have spare beds, and we’re definitely over 40.
So much easier to inflate/deflate and more comfortable than the camp beds or futons we’ve slept on.
I did wonder if it would take a while to warm up all that air, but we have fleecy bedding, so not a problem.

Depends on the type. I've slept on some very uncomfortable couches (who has a double bed sized couch that isn't a put-you-up?) and some pretty mediocre hotel beds. A decent inflatable can equal both of your options!! 'Inferior' in any category is always a let down.

More trouble than they are worth , very uncomfortable and feel cold to the body. Would rather sleep on a couch or preferably in a cozy hotel bed!!

They sound great Missedout. How much room do they take up for storage and any chance of a link to the brand you have?

When we go camping, DH and I each have a foam, self-inflating mattress. Open them out and release the 'Inflate' valve. They gradually inflate to about 10cms depth. They have straight box sides, so no rolling off and a small, cloth hand pump for adjusting the hardness of the mattress. Bought as a pair, they came with a strap to keep them together so they feel like a double bed. We've used them both for years when camping but also individually as spare beds. They are comfortable and, because they contain foam, they are insulated from the ground. To pack them away, open the 'Deflate' valve and roll them up into their bags.

I have a very comfortable single inflatable mattress and it is used regularly when we have visitors. I actually sleep better on it than in my own bed before I bought a new mattress.
It has a built in pump, so simple to inflate and deflate.

We have used an inflatable double bed for years. It has a built in pump and is the height of a double bed once inflated. I think it was around £100, but very good for visitors. Moved abroad and used it there. When we came back to the UK our daughter now has it and uses it for our grandaughters’ friends sleepovers.

When we visit family abroad each year we sleep on inflatable beds, have done for years. Other than one which sprung a leak they've been brilliant, just remember to check if it needs re-inflating each evening. The ones with built in inflation pumps have been the best.

Very uncomfortable

If sharing a double blow up bed it helps if both are similar weights but definitely not for me. Tried it once, never again.

We borrowed a double, inflatable one that’s was the same height as our normal bed. Quite comfortable for a few weeks, until one morning we woke up with our legs in the air, heads on the floor ha.

My DH is a lot heavier than me and I found myself unable to sleep. I’d not be buying one again. I fine the single ones ok as I keep it a little under inflated.

We have two single ones that we use camping. We have found it more comfortable to do this than have a double.
Also we don’t inflate too much, just enough to be firm, otherwise they are too bouncy and not comfortable at all.

We’ve got an Aerobed which inflates to the same height as a standard bed. Bought many years ago it still inflates without problem. I’m very comfortable on it as is Mr C. The trick is not to over inflate. Guests love it too.

We bought one for a camping holiday and found it OK. Then we slept on one several times at DS's. It was fine as long as it was sufficiently inflated. The hardest part was getting up off it - floor level - in the morning! It was certainly more comfortable than the sofa bed DS now has. That's too narrow and, with DH being heavier than me, we roll into the middle (fine for one person, though).

I’ve slept on an inflatable airbed lots of times with DH and have slept well. On the times I felt uncomfortable the bed was overinflated which did make me lose sleep. Z beds are better you would need 2 but if it is not a regular thing people staying over it would be too expensive.

Get them to book in to nearest Premier Inn or Travel lodge. Saves all the hassle for you and them.

I have slept on one a few times with DH
It was easy to inflate and deflate.
Every time one of us got up the other one bounced.
I think it deflated a bit overnight.
I also felt that the air inside it got colder as the night progressed.

Personally I would rather sleep on the settee.

I have a folding bed which folds up for storage and has wheels moving around. Do you have room for 2 of these?

I also have a z bed which is surprisingly comfy if a little low!

I ve slept on the many times when camping or at friends relationship without extra bed space and I ve always found them perfectly comfortable why wouldn’t they be if blown up fully you are sleeping on air I’ve never had a problem

We slept on a double one quite happily.
Not ours so don't know the make, sorry.

We've several, for children, would work for adults.
