Why is it, when people visit friends or relatives in a vehicle they can NEVER park across the driveway that they’re visiting? Instead they park opposite someone else’s driveway making it really difficult for them to leave or access their property! Rant over.

We have never parked across or opposite a stranger’s drive when visiting relatives or friends.

I have always been considerate when parking the car.
Where I live, parking is not allowed on the road, other than, briefly for deliveries.

I am probably the worst Parker in the world

My neighbours' children always park in the most awkward place, opposite our drive, which we always have to reverse in to.
What is really annoying is that there are .designated parking spaces a few yards away, they are just to lazy to use them. 🤬

too lazy

I would never park across the driveway of someone I'm visiting. Do other people do that? I'd only do it if invited to do so, seems rude otherwise.

The parking that annoys me is the big SUVs or 4x4s who encroach into the next bay or straddle the white lines . When I go to the gym , there are numerous spaces I can’t access due to these large vehicles.

Parking is tight on our street, so I tell my kids to park in front of my drive when they visit. We have one spot in the carport (drive), then one spot on the street. Sometimes there is other parking available, but not always.

What Tenko has said is right. It's also very difficult to pull out of spaces if you are between these huge cars as you cannot see past them to check the road is clear.

I'm unable to turn right out of my drive if my neighbour has parked his socking great Barbarian penis extension there.

I am quite happy if visiting friends park on my drive - whyever not? Oddly, most choose not to and will park on the street however awkward that is.

“considerably”?

I wouldn’t park across someone else’s drive, but would park opposite one if the street was wide enough. My drive is on a bend; people don’t park but it is often used as a turning place.
