Bad hair day advice needed please

I’m growing out golden highlights quite easily with John Freida Purple something ( I’ve run out so can’t check exact name, on most shelves though) conditioner - I don’t bother with the shampoo. This gives just enough tone to blend nicely and not at all purple, nor even mauve!

Please don't use a purple shampoo so soon after having it coloured. A co-worker did that and ended up with purple streaks, because freshly done hair is more prone to accepting new colour.

Your hairdresser should be able to tone it down, if you can make it through the weekend as is.

When my usual dye put on by the hairdressed turned out to be the wrong colour, I rang my hairdresser and she advised washing it in neat washing up liquid to get rid of the excess dye. It worked, needed a fair bit of conditioner afterwards though!

My hairdresser recommended Fanola, I use it every other wash, leave it in for ten minutes - use an old towel!

Personally I’ve never been impressed with the purple shampoos..My daughter who is an ex hairdresser said to me “you need to go to a hairdressers supplier and get the one the salons use”

Oh theres lots of semi permanent hair colours that wash out after a few washes… go into any big Superdrug or Boots and just look at the boxes it will say colour washes out after a few shampoos..

When you use the purple, leave it in for 15 - 30 min. Even a cap on while out of the shower will work. Sometimes the greys turn a bit blueish - sorry.

There’s nothing wrong with blonde - I’ve been blonde all my life! I’ve no intention of ever going grey.

I agree that touch of silver takes the yellow out of blonde.

Boots sell Garnier colour sensation that is a shampoo in colour reviver - if you buy a darker one, it may help. I use it between colours to give my mouse a bit of a lift to a darker brown.

But I do see adverts for a colour version of Plantur.

But I would live with blonde and see if you like it.

Just wanted to add that the Silver Shampoo will look purple when you apply it but dont worry your hair wont be purple just a toned down version of what you have. You might even like it!!

Try purple shampoo. It really calms down the blond. It’s called a touch of silver and tines colour down. You may like results. You can get these silver shampoos in most chemists.

Buy a purple mask conditioner such as one by Wella. It takes the brassiness out and I use it on my grey hair. Get compliments on the colour all the time (it won’t turn it purple 😊)

Thank you Redhead56 I will try Superdrug. I do intend to see my hairdresser but can’t get there until after the bank holiday and just want something to tide me over.

Superdrug sell coloured hairspray called pick and mix. Spray in wash out colour my hair is mostly white now. I have a grey patch at the back I buy wicked white colour just to brighten it up. It washes out you could check out the colours they stock. That might do for now but honestly if you just had your hair done see the hairdresser.
