I have a Shark cordless which on balance I prefer to the Dysons I had previously. The model I have came with 2 battery packs so there’s always one charged and ready to go, and I like that it has lights on the front which my Dyson didn’t have.
Negatives are it won’t stand up on its own- sounds daft but can be a nuisance, and although it’s supposed to be a pet model- I think that’s right- it gets blocked quickly with dog hair, so
much so that my husband commented the other day when he saw me dismantling it again to ‘unbung’ it. He preferred the Dyson, which was lighter in weight.
Having listed the negatives I wonder why I prefer it, but it will do the whole bungalow- the three bedrooms are carpeted the rest is hard floor- comfortably on one charge, plus the tools and accessories that came with it are easy to fit.

I found the Vax blade useless - all the fluff and dust got stuck in the tube and rarely made it up to the dust collection bin.

Hi Dizzyribs we got it direct from the GTech site online, the upright AirRam is, model number AR 29 and the smaller one is Multi, model number ATF036. They came as a bundle together tho you don’t have to buy both.
It’s grey, black and lime green in colour.

I have a Shark cordless and a Shark plug-in……both are the same age but the cordless is nowhere near as good as the other one.

@oreo I’m in the market for a new vacuum too. The air ram is on my shortlist along with a shark but I wasn’t sure, there are so many different types with different knobs and bobs. Which model do you have Oreo?

I have an elderly Dyson that started to run out of charge quickly. My dsil got a new battery pack from Amazon. It wasn’t expensive and he was able to fit it quite easily. Might that be worth trying first?

I’m slightly obsessed with floor cleaning machines - not that you’d know from the current state of my kitchen floor!

It’s a Shark corded for me downstairs and an AirRamK9 upstairs - not that there’s any animals here now, other than a fortnightly visit by DD2’s Little Dog, who has the run of the place.
However, while I find the AirRam ok for upstairs, I lug the Shark up once a month and the collection bin is full in no time.

Don’t get me started on cleaning hard floors!

I'd go for a corded Miele, cat and dog.
Much better than our previous cleaner, in fact ,I'd better get it out and do some work.

Cordless, Gtech AirRam, just brilliant. I only have a small house but can do every room twice before the battery needs to be charged.Lightweight too.Came as a bundle with the small handheld one to do stairs and car.

I have a dyson cordless which is running out of power before a whole house clean. It is almost eight years old so I suppose has done well considering it is used daily.
I can't decide whether or not to buy a plug in and keep the Dyson cordless for stairs etc. or buy another cordless. Shark seem to get good reviews.
A bit of background: I currently have two dogs, one very hairy who is 16 years old and a young one who doesn't shed much. They are not allowed upstairs but the old one's hair gets everywhere including stairs, bathroom and bedrooms where she doesn't go. I know that sadly I won't have her much longer.
Any advice appreciated, thank you.
