I think you are extremely generous to give him money every month and I’d wait until he actually gets his results before giving him anything.

I didn’t give any of my GC money when they got their results, not their 11+, GCSE’s or A levels.

We don't give them money on a regular basis (9 of them) but we will give DGD1 £50 on Thursday however she does. She will probably do really well but whatever the results, she will have tried her best.

Our 8 older grandchildren are 16-23 now and we’ve never given them money at results time. Just a carefully worded card to remind them that we love them and value who they are. However we have given a “start up” gift for going off to uni and also for moving into their 1st post student accommodation later on. Those who don’t go to uni or move out from home, well one way or another they will receive just the same. Our kids have always known our resources had to go 5 ways and are similarly appreciative and understanding of how we choose to treat their children i.e. fairly and as generously as we are able to. It seems to work for us.

We give our only two GCs a regular amount each month. GC 1 at uni gets £100, GC2 at school, £50. GD2 will also get her GCSE results on Thursday, a card is ready and we shall put £100 in her bank account. When she goes to uni, she too will get £100 a month. We only have the two, so we find this easy.

I like to treat my teenage/ older GDs ever summer not just because of results. I take them out for lunch, a gallery / show and a bit of shopping ( I’m in London). Took them all to choose a perfume last year. Cost quite a bit but I don’t treat them much during the year.

So generous of you. I couldn’t afford that.

Tell the aunt to mind her own. business....if you dare. Why on earth people share so much information especially financial info amazes me and then get upset if the comments don't suit them.
As others have said they are GCSEs now. The GC will just be relieved they are over and I expect will be pleased with a card.
If we continue to give large sums of money all the time, we are stoking the fires of expectation. So often I see on soc media that grandparents get upset with not being thanked or not getting a thankyou card back from the GC. It's all getting out of hand.

What has it got to do with his aunt? Do what you want and maybe in future don't tell her what you're planning to do.
