Fixing on badges without sewing

I am the chief sewer-onner for GS's Beaver badges and they are a pain in the neck. I'm wondering if I could stick them on with Bondaweb instead (it's double sided adhesive gauze which is activated by ironing).
I've used it for applique before but the badges are very stiff.

The Scout shop sells fabric glue for badges, you can get similar on Amazon etc

Thanks for that.

I often thought about glue but it does mean you can't re-use the top.
I would just teach the young person to do it themselves.

I assume they can't be too young to sew and you can always tack them in place first.

Isn’t it strange how us nannas are the badge sewer onners!
I always did my own 3 children’s badges - brownies, cubs, scouts and guides, swimming and sports .

I’ve done them now for grandchildren and still doing for youngest DGD brownies, just about to go to Guides. 😤.

As you say ‘it’s a pain in the neck’.
I would love to have found something sticky to adhere them to.

I am looking forward to the day when they get their ‘sewing’ badge and I can hand the needle over! Swimming badges too.

I tried using the bondaweb type stuff once for my DDs brownie badges and got told off by Brown Owl!

The Beaver is only 6 and the badges are blooming awkward - all different shapes, sizes and colours and some are interlocking - and he gets a new one nearly every week.
I assume the person who designed them didn't try sewing them on!

I would use bondweb to secure and then do a few stitches round the edge to avoid getting told of by Brown Owl!

The sewing badge should be the first one they earn 🪡🧵😃

I would happily sew a few badges!

When my youngest went away to school I sewed 90 name tapes on by hand!

When he left school I was thrilled that I would never have to do it again……until my mother went in to a home, it was dreadful I had to sew in her name tapes on to all her clothing, sad.
