Outdoor Christmas wreath - where to look?

Awfully sorry for going early!

We usually buy a door wreath from our gardener but she is too busy designing to do them this year.

So, I am trying to find a large, prelit, outdoor, battery operated door wreath.

I have googled etc but can't find one.

Help - any suggestions please!!

Hobbycraft have just announced their Christmas workshops, including 2 wreath making courses, one in store, one online

I'm such a cheapskate - I'm still adorning the door with a twenty year old wreath, from Homebase, featuring red "silk "poinsettias. I don't even titivate it..
As my granny used to say "It'll see me out"..

I usually buy one from a supermarket a short time before Christmas and tart it up a bit with ribbons and decorations. I did buy a beautiful fresh wreath on Ebay one year, it wasn't expensive but I had to order it well in advance. It was made on Oasis so I was able to keep it damp and it did last pretty well.

Home Bargains, The Range, both good quality, good value

There’s a lot of places that organise making your own which includes lunch, my friend and I meet up every year to make our own with all materials supplied, then afterwards a lovely lunch, a bit pricey but it’s so much nicer to have a real old fashioned Xmas holly wreath unique to you… we absolutely love it, and its also a nice Xmas gift to give also, my DIL loves it too

You might look around to see if there is a gardening group for disabled people. Round here we have a group that make up all sorts of wreaths fresh and artifical sorts. All the money received goes to keep the group going so you get a good wreath and it supports the group. You might see something in your local paper to try

Home Bargins have some. Probably would also find some at B & M, both are bargin stores

I usually buy a fresh one from Sainsburys and remove the fake plastic bits and nylon ribbon, replacing them with real fir cones and pretty ribbons. I think my total spend is about £20.

.

If you are a member of Costco then they do ones that are wonderful and look quite real.

John Lewis or any garden centre

I had a lovely one from Wayfair, good range of prices too.

Costco have them on sale.
Usually I buy a blank real foliage wreath, sometimes from Costco, then add my own decorations to it.

Dunelm and Wayfair have them from 25-45 pounds.

TK Maxx. Add your own lights

I usually buy a real one, unadorned, from the local market, and decorate it myself. Then a very cheap set of mini battery lights from e.g. Poundland finishes it off.

Nannan2 Wed 10-Sept-25 14:28:26

JJ- oh the Dunelm one is pretty.

I bought this one from Amazon last year, as we were in a temporary rental and our furniture etc in storage pending moving here to Scotland.
I was delighted with it.

My local Smiths (now called TJ Jones) was sorting out xmas wrapping paper today - shock horror - and one of the supermarkets has got mince pies in apparently. I can't possibly be worrying about Xmas decs yet - but good luck with your wreath searches, kittylester. You'll be well ahead of the game come December!!!

I did apologise!

We have a very old one which was made by an old lady DH knew through work which comes out every year. I really should replace it but haven't the heart.

It has had a new ribbon occasionally and I've wondered whether to take the decorations off and replace with fresh each year, but no, on the door it goes each C*******s.

I do wish you would cease cussing!😁

Sorry!

Usually I refuse to mention the C word until after the H word! Or even B N!

Allira, It sounds rather like Trigger’s broom! 😂

😁

The basic wreath is there, good as ever! as are the silk? flowers and bits of artificial greenery. Just a new ribbon.

However, it is going to get a Trigger refit this year! 🤞

Costco already has Xmas items
