We bought our bed from Dreams. The mattress is a pocketed spring one with a gel top layer. It's wonderful, like sleeping on a cloud.

My daughter hates her Emma mattress, she feels it was not a good buy.

Hi Midgey, thank you for your response. I would be grateful if you could let me know what it is about the Emma mattress you daughter doesn’t like?

I would recommend a Millbrook wool mattress. Normally wool mattresses are expensive but I bought ours from Mattress Online. A double starts at £429.
Had ours for five years and it’s like new.

We had a Simba pro, memory foam and pocket springs after 2 years there was a noticeable dip in the middle that got worse so after just 3 years we changed to a natural traditional mattress, wool and pocket springs. After a year we are still very happy with it.

I've been sleeping recently on a Deep Sleep Bronze 1500 mattress and I love it! 💤. It's very firm and supportive (without being rigid like sleeping on a tabletop). The 1500 pocket springs mean there's plenty of "give" when you want to turn over or move around in bed.
It's sold either with the divan base or the mattress alone and the 4 feet 6 size seems to be available currently for between £300 and £350.

We are on a silentnight. We shopped around and tried them out by lying on different ones and the one we chose took about 12 weeks to arrive from placing the order. It was approximately 18 months ago and cost around the £1000 fora king size.
It’s delightful.

I’ve recently replaced mine with a simba. So far so good

Everyone comments on my comfy bed when I have guests. It's an Eve foam mattress I ordered on-line and comes in a box. Best mattress I ever had.

I am currently looking to buy a new double mattress for our spare bedroom. As I have been researching this on the internet my in-box is now full of mattress recommendations which has made it even more confusing to choose!!

The mattress will be used primarily for when the grandchildren stay. However, my partner and I will be using it for a few weeks whilst our bedroom is redecorated and he is quite heavy! He favours the Emma mattress as it has good reviews, but I’m not sure. I wake up achy most mornings (our mattress also needs replacing) so I’m not sure if I should choose an orthopaedic mattress. Our budget is up to £1,000. Your recommendations would be gratefully received
