A Teasmade

We had a teasmade for many years and loved it for our early morning cuppa. I got an insulated pouch (for babies bottles) to put a jam jar of milk in. We live in a bungalow now with the kitchen close to the bedroom so don't need one.

You can buy small longlife milk pots or sachets from Amazon as well.
That will ensure the milk doesn't go off.

Thanks Folks decided on buying small reliable kettle which I have seen on Amazon (other suppliers available) and will get myself sorted. 👍

Yes they still make them. Lakeland sell Swan teasmade. If you do buy one make sure it doesn’t have an annoying light. I agree Hatchem about the sound.

Something that's puzzled me for years is why teasmades have an alarm. Blasted things always woke me with the racket it made!

I have a teas made which I no longer use because it has a light which stays on all night and keeps me awake. I have tried in vain to remove the bulb. I do have a decorative kettle/teapot and I keep the milk in a separate jar when I can be bothered to use it that is. My grandma always used to take a thermos of tea to bed- mainly because she couldn’t bear to leave any hot water in the kettle. She was also known to decant her hot water bottle into it when she got into bed! I wouldn’t do that though if I were you.

PolNan I too go to the loo a few times in night. Doc has offered me tablets to help but as I have Dry Eye Syndrome I shouldn’t take them. I do quite a bit of reading in the night from my Kindle on a dark setting, then listen to a sleep tape and quite often then sleep for 3+ hours, bliss. Plus I wear an eye mask which the late Dr Mosley says helps with sleep.

I have dry eye too, but my tablets and cream have been a godsend. I no longer have to get up at all! He has promised an injection if the stress (sneeze) does not clear too

but I am told to drink more water

so Ihave a half and half of water and sugar free Cranberry juice in my bedroom to sip if I need to or drink first thing.

Even decaff tea after 9pm would keep me awake when I should be asleep. Surely midnight drinks mean a necessary loo trip two or three hours later? 🤔

I don't drink caffeine after 3pm because it keeps me awake.

I have a glass of water by my bed.

I know lots of people who say they can't sleep and then get up in the night to make a cup of tea. Why?

I have a kettle in my bedroom and when I go to bed I take up my mug and a very small jug of milk for my morning cuppa. The milk has never gone off.

I did have a teasmade when I was doing night feeds for my babies but the tea it made wasn't great.

One of those old fashioned swan teas made are super a little flask for the milk will keep it fresh amazon have them and well worth it

I have a small kettle , mug and tea bags in the bedroom. Love a morning cuppa- when I wake. I don't have tea in the middle of the night. I also drink it black first thing so not having to bother about milk.

Mine was even more old fashioned than the traditional one shown there.
It had a space for a personal photograph.
I still have the teapot somewhere.

For many years I had an actual Teasmade but when it stopped working I decided not to replace it.
The kettle and flask are far simpler.

I have a kettle, one cup teapot , I don’t like it made in a cup, and a small thermos flask from Amazon in my bedroom.
The flask costs approximately £12 and keeps milk fresh for about 12 hours.
I enjoy my my mid night cuppa.

Maybe a travel kettle and a flask for milk.
