Ok I’ve tried some green and it’s an improvement but still quite dull.

I’m getting bored with it already 😳

If you are disappointed -take it down .
It sounds lovely to me ,but maybe not right with your decor .
The Internet provides a great deal of inspiration for Chrustmas ideas .
If in doubt at Christmas stick with red, green ,gold and /or silver themes .
I found a stack of cheap pure white baubles in a charity shop and that's my colour choice this year.
Mixed with some greenery -they will look good -I hope !

I wouldn’t intertwine the ivy, etc., I’d just place it behind to enhance your lovely new natural decorations.

Ive tried Pinterest but it’s all too massive and ornate with fixings and stuff. I just want it to lay really.

This is just a bit of it.

To be frank 🙂 it looks bare. You need more a more but of varying sizes and colours. Some height behind the larger balls.
Do you have any of those jewel like colours garden stones.
The Xmas tree needs a little shushing.

Yes, it needs greenery entwined, Ivy - as Witzend said, fir, holly, any really.

Have you got any ivy in the garden, or any growing nearby that you could nick?*
Some of that would round your garland would almost certainly cheer it up.
*The pesky stuff grows so fast once spring is here, you’d be more than welcome to whole swathes of ours!

I’d go on YouTube and see if there’s a video that will give you some tips on how to zhuzz it up.

I’m so disappointed.

I decided to go for a natural theme this year and I’ve bought one of those swags of dried oranges, cinnamon sticks etc to go along the mantle piece.

It’s awful. So dull and brown looking. Not at all the rich warm look I was hoping for. It was going to have candlesticks with warm golden yellow candles and they look awful with it too.

Oh what can I do? I have no gift for this sort of thing. Help me dress my fireplace.

(Or tell me to just throw it away…….)
