£300 (I am well over 80), a couple of weeks ago. Money off my leccie account direct to EDF about a month ago, £10 on Monday of this week.

Yes - if you can afford it, it will be clawed back - so many people getting it that frankly don’t need any help with heating costs. The way our climate is going we will be in more need of air conditioning help in the summer.

Fenbug the heated throws are the best investment for all ages - people working from home don’t have to heat the whole house and older people can stay warm even when not active. Not sure why more people don’t buy them and keep costs down.

Got mine 21st November. Not had Xmas Bonus yet, but am thinking what I can spend it on

Fenbug Wed 03-Dec-25 16:19:55

Yes, I've received mine, late November. I anticipated it slightly, as with a nearly full oil tank and being mean with the electric I'd decided to invest the £200 in an electric blanket (the throw sort, not the bed underblanket kind) and a heated laundry airer (on recommendation from my cousin). Both are brilliant - the throw is so efficient I almost don't need to switch it or the central heating on most evenings so far, and the airer means no more iffy-smelling laundry that hasn't quite dried right, and for a few pence an hour.

We've both had ours as have both my sister's.

Are you not the person who had the issue over the whole payment going to your husband rather than divided between you - some issue over postcodes. That being the case you might expect there to be a delay as DWP sorts out who gets what. Has you husband had a payment and if so and how much?

Mine was received on 21 November but it doesn’t mean anything. DWP does not publish the criteria for who is paid when but the 13 million payments will be done in tranches.

Government website says most eligible people should receive their payment by mid-December.

If you have not received your Winter Fuel Payment by the end of January 2026, contact the Winter Fuel Payment helpline on 0800 731 0160.
