Well whatever I plan has to be "depending", as whatever I would like to do will be somewhat controlled by how my back is and whether I can walk about much. Yesterday I had a very long day meeting up with my son and family, which was very good, but I certainly know about it today, so it has been a very quiet day today and have been happy to do very little, and relish that this is the shortest day so we will begin to get a bit more light from now on. I am going to a friends for christmas day and on new years day I will be going up to swaledale to reeth to see the new year day fireworks and meet up with old friends and do some singing etc. But other than that I have no actual plans for anything. So I have a variety of possibilities that I might get round to doing. If there is a wet and miserable day I intend to make the effort to go through my wardrobe, checking what still fits , and what I might use, and hopefully trying to be strong and give away good things that I have not worn but they have just sat in the wardrobe. Anything I can prise away from myself to be washed and ironed and ready to g ive away. Then I hope for a day that I dont feel too bad and intend to tackle the cupboards in the kitchen, taking stuff out, cleaning the shelves and putting stuff back with the oldest tins at the front etc. If I can get that all done by new years day I will feel that I am starting off in a better way. As for exercise, I am allowing myself to slob about until boxing day and then I will get back to attempting to do a bit of a walk every day, hopefully a little more each day. I did quite well last year until about March when it began to tail off. I had a big garden and now very little garden but I still like gardens so I can walk around and look at other peoples gardens. I also make a bit of an effort to walk down some paths and roads that I havent visited before and discover some new places. Plan to meet up with some of my very old friends, so we shall find a day to be able to meet up in York for coffee or a lunch.
I shall make myself a winter picnic and stick coats and macs etc in the car and then have a day out up the dales and also to the coast, where I can just set off and have no timetable just be free to wander wherever. Then I will be looking into what might be something new to try in the new year. Have already volunteered to do Talking Newspaper, as did it years ago when I lived elsewhere. Then we used to meet up in the library and do it, but this is done on Zoom . I havent done anything with Zoom so I need to learn more about that before it begins and also I am going on a short course for safety cyber things. So I think it can be useful to think what you want to go back to and see if you can do some sorting out and checking things whilst you are free. Then also enjoy being able to read or paint or trying out something new, with no time limits, and you could find out a bit more about something that you havent tried yet, so that if there is a class in the new year you are ready to join in.
