Recently diagnosed with closed angular glaucomer. My worst eye is so sore, crusty, itchy and dry. I’m on 3 different drops. How do I cope?

You need to contact your consultant as a matter of urgency.
DH had a reaction to one type of drops.

Does your hospital have an eye casualty unit you can contact? Otherwise contact your consultant as Ladygracie says. In the meantime try dissolving a little soda bicarbonate in warm, previously boiled water, and use it to clean along the lash line using cotton wool or cotton buds. This will reduce the crusting and make your eye more comfortable. If there’s a lot of crust you can lay a clean flannel or cotton wool soaked in warm water over your eyes for 5 or 10 minutes first to soften it..

Hope you get it sorted soon.

You definitely need some medical advice ASAP.

And not from Gransnet, helpful though we are.

I’ve experienced a dreadful reaction to some eye drops so I can envisage what you are saying. It shouldn’t be like this.

I agree with everyone else, you need to get back to your eye specialist. I tried several drops before I found one that my eyes tolerated. Also your symptoms sound a lot like Blephlaritis which I also have. I was advised boiled water with one drop of baby shampoo then use cotton buds to gently wipe and remove the crusting. You can also buy individually wrapped wipes to do the same thing. I ended up having laser surgery to reduce the pressure which was quick, painless and successful. I hope things improve soon.
