and I'll have that tipple keepcalm - thanks for the suggestion

Thanks, I think I'll get the garlic roller as I've wanted that longest, & hope my trusty paintbrush keeps going till I've finished or thrown in the towel, whichever's first!

As they are completely different items which serve practical purposes (so not exactly frivolous) and you can afford them both why not buy both? I don't really see the dilemma.

I'd choose the garlic crusher and employ a painter and decorator 😁

I use ready crushed garlic in a jar these days so I’d get the paintbrush. Someone else would have to deploy it though, as I’m useless at painting! Wallpapering is my skill set. grin

I want or need either. I would shop around as prices do vary.

Just looked them both up. Go for the paintbrush.

Grammaretto Thu 22-Jan-26 19:02:39

I think I would buy both because I would regret it if I didn't but I don't know what's special about either. I'll go and look them up now.
Thinks how have I got to this stage in my life without them

GrannyGravy13 Thu 22-Jan-26 18:31:38

As there is probably zero chance of me painting a wall, I would definitely go with the garlic crush.

keepcalmandcavachon Thu 22-Jan-26 18:31:22

I'm going to be very naughty and suggest that you do indeed treat yourself to both and after all that DIY and cooking treat yourself to a tipple toogrin

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 22-Jan-26 18:27:35

I'd buy both

Rosie51 Thu 22-Jan-26 18:09:32

Garlic roller for me too. You're obviously very good at paintbrush care, you haven't forgotten in 24 years, you're unlikely to change that habit anytime soon.

Grannybags Thu 22-Jan-26 18:06:29

I think I’d go for the garlic thingy. We eat a lot of garlic!

Rocketstop2 Thu 22-Jan-26 18:04:44

If you buy both..Don't get them mixed upgrin

Fallingstar Thu 22-Jan-26 18:02:51

Well, your paintbrush is still good to go, and hopefully you won’t need it too much after your recent painting spree. But your garlic roller will probably get plenty of use every week so I would logically pick the roller.

LucyAnna5 Thu 22-Jan-26 18:02:28

Is there a ProCook or Lakeland shop near you? I would think they’d have the garlic thing?

I’m not too good at waiting for things - I’d get both!

valdavi Thu 22-Jan-26 17:58:28

That's paintbrush as in decorating, not fine art btw

I have a dilemma: at the moment I'm hankering after 2 different things that I don't need, & never see in the shops so would have to get online. Both are small things & I could afford both, but I'm going to treat myself to one or the other,
First, a garlic roller-crusher (as mentioned on a thread on here recently). I got fed up with traditional garlic presses & years ago I saw one of these (John Lewis I think) but it seemed expensive & I didn't buy, I just chop garlic by hand it's quick & always fine enough (even if it does give me "garlic fingers)
Second, I have this amazing paintbrush, a Monarch advance, that made all the difference to the quality of my DIY painting when I got it about 24 years ago. I look after it, & it's still good, but I'm in the middle of a long slog of painting & I would like a second, just in case I forget to wash it thoroughly one day.
I'm going to go online & treat myself to one or the other - a paintbrush or a garlic crusher - which would you get?
