If your husband just wants to get some guidance on art, he can look for short tutorials on line by typing in something like "watercolour painting techiques", "how to draw a face", etc, etc. That would give him an opportunity to practice at home some of the techiques he sees and to learn about the different sorts of materials - eg acrylic paints, water paints, oil paints, coloured pencils, pastels, inks, etc and different types of paper.

Some of the artists giving the short demonstrations do courses as well. That might give your husband the confidence to join a local group.

Missed out into 'art'.

I know lots of Grans are into and I am looking for recommendations for a good site to help DH.

I have encouraged him to join an art group which he is enjoying but he hates not doing well and has been looking for help on line as well. He is one of 4 boy - not at all competitive.

Can anyone suggest anything?
