Off soon for a trip to Glasgow.
I'm hoping for some locals favourite places for a normal kind of brunch/early afternoon meal. Nothing fancy. But if it does good cakes and coffee that would be great. I'm travelling alone so don't want to visit fancy restaurants. Somewhere where the local elders hang out. All advice appreciated. smile oh ps will be staying near Glasgow Central so not too far walk away. Maybe 20 mins max.

Maybe «near Glasgow Central» is not such a good idea?

Singl-End in Merchant City (10 minute walk from Central) is good, mixed crowd, can be busy. There are loads of cafes in Merchant City. Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) is en route and has an exhibition of Glasgow photographs (haven't been) free entry, it's where the Duke with the traffic cone on his head lives.
