Shoes!!

I don’t wear trainers. I have many pairs of Gabor flat shoes in green , navy, red , bright pink and beige. They are very comfortable and I keep an old grey pair in the car for driving. Gabor shoes are expensive and I have been lucky to get four pairs on eBay in excellent condition.
My friend wears trainers all the time and tells me how comfortable they are. I like a pretty shoe and don’t think I will ever come round to trainers!
Counting slippers and boots I might have 20 pairs in total most of which are worn.

Is it a competition? Why do people collect shoes?

A functional capsule wardrobe generally requires 8 to 12 pairs of shoes. This covers all four seasons and various occasions, work, casual wear, workouts, and formal events.

I go for better rather than more now, partly because I need to as I, a my feet, legs and back get older. I have two cupboards with 20 pigeon holes. Each hole fits a pair of shoes. I would love to reduce that to one cupboard.

Is it an age thing, do you think?

I’ve got boxes full of shoes. Having mutant feet ( bunion and corn) I often used to have to change the style of shoes that I was wearing. And if I found something that was comfortable would buy several pairs. In recent years, now retired, I’ve lived in trainers, Crocs and Ugg boots. However, just as I was about to take some shoes to a charity shop I started wearing jeans again which means that I’m not tied down to wearing shoes that go with my usual leggings. So my Doc Martens are back in use again.

I have 3 pairs of trainers I wear all the time, 1 pair of sandals and 1 pair of slippers end of, why would you need so many shoes,????

Colour match my Sketchers (and socks) with clothes.

Oh, a pair of pretty Sketchers bootees too. And the very favourite particular colour sketchers I bought 2x duplicate pairs for "best" before they sold out.

Probably about 8 pairs of sketchers trainers, 2 pairs of sketchers sandals, 4 pairs of boots, couple of slip on sliders, 2 pairs of slippers. All other shoes already given away or waiting to be given away as I cannot do heels anymore.

Good topic. I cant wear sandals because last time I rolled my ankle and my leg broke in two places.

3 pairs of heeled black sandals I need once every four years
1 pair of trainers that I wear every day and replace once a year with same kind.
1 pair of hiking boots I wear for muddy walks.
1 pair of snow boots I wear once a decade.

Got about 25 prs all either ankle boots or a few very supportive sandals as odd feet and one is club . Only bought one pair of fuschia cosy fit ankle this year . All my footwear is Hotter ; Cosy Fit or Wauldlafer and all boots have to have laces to support my weak ankles .

The old ones are comfy or look just right: the new ones have been bought in the hope they’d be the same…

I have a pair of shoes for each outfit. That way I do not have to think about clothes and shoes every morning.

I think I have 2 pairs of sandals.

I hate shopping for shoes and have a pair hiking shoes, a pair of short black boots, a pair of shoes I bought for a wedding 2 years ago and 2 pair of sandals, I've just thrown a pair of trainers that had a hole in.

My Josef Seibel sandals and shoes are very comfortable and smart enough for the occasions I go to.

I have an elderly pair of trainers for cycling too.

No heels ever - I just fall off them.
