Which British song sums up the 1960s for you?

I'd go with Waterloo Sunset too- sums up so much of swinging London but has also passed the test of time.

So many others, but this really resonates more for me.

I was a huge Beatles fan, practically anything by them.....but Procul Harum's Whiter Shade of Pale was number 1 for so long, in fact all summer in 1967. Somehow with the completely incomprehensible lyrics and dreamy music borrowed from "Air on a G string" it had a kind of zeitgeist that defined the later 60s. It still transports me right back there whenever I hear it, I'm 13 again!
