Jersey Royals

To me they’re hardly worth paying extra for any more - they just don’t have that special, unmistakable Jersey taste, like they used to. Something to do with no longer using seaweed as fertiliser, I have read, which would seem to make sense.

I loved the ones we had in Jersey last year. The creamy texture was so lovely.

They aren't everywhere, that's the point. The ones you get from supermarkets, Waitrose, M&S etc are nothing remotely like the ones we used to have.

The ones I order from Richardson are exactly what we're looking for. Just like the good old days

I grew some jersey potatoes from a couple that had been knocking around in and needed throwing.
I grew them in a bag for life!

I saw some on my travels earlier today in a farm shop in Cumbria. They were in sturdy paper bags and priced at £8 per kilo.

They won’t taste like Jersey Royals though.

Potatoes are really easy to grow.
Honestly one of the easiest things.

We ate lots in Jersey a couple of weeks ago, they keep the best ones on the island!

If you can get them try Boston New potatoes, as good as a Jersey but a different flavour.

They are everywhere but at a price, so not as many in stock as there used to be.

Link looks weird but totally fine. But it's for Richardson Jerseys, we get them from there . Just like we used to get, absolutely delicious. A tad pricey but well worth it. Fast delivery as well

we used to love them, but over the years they just don't seem to taste the same...maybe it's my taste buds ,

I agree they don’t taste earthy like they used to. jusnoneed if they come in a pack no thankyou they have to be loose. I will try on Saturday at the Charter market in town and look in Marks too. Thanks

I saw some in Lidls last week, small pack which was expensive and thay were like marbles. I bought my usual Alexandra salad potatoes instead.

I don't think they taste as good as they did years ago wither Wheniwasyourage.

Market type stalls usually sell them, unless you're an online shopper only.

We have grocery stall on Fridays and Saturdays here, and they often sell off a big bowl full for a pound.

I think some people are put off ny the look of them, but they're delicious!

I've had the tesco ones, amd tjey were pretty good.

We found them on holiday recently in a Waitrose in Milngavie but they were quite big. We like them when they are small, loose and grubby. They tasted good, but I don't think they're as nice as they used to be. Am I getting old?
