My beloved daughter took her life in the early hours of this morning.

My first born, my joy, my best friend , my laughter, my tears

I am broken

Annie

Just adding my good wishes for you to have a good night's sleep tonight and that all goes well tomorrow. We will all be breaking into smiles at the thought of you in the back of the van!

May all who loved her receive comfort and joy in celebrating and remembering your daughter's life, and will gain the strength to go forward cherishing her memory in their hearts.

Annie I hope today went well for you and brought you some comfort. Will be with you in thought tonight and tomorrow flowers

Hello annie. Hope you manage to eat something today. Don't overdo the exercises if you are feeling a little bit giddy (and don't pull the kitchen sink away from the wall either ?). My DH says I wobble sideways when I walk and keep pushing him off the pavement. It seems I don't have much balance either. Hope you have a good sleep tonight. God bless x

Jalima1108 Wed 15-Nov-17 17:57:03

Yes, I have to hold on too Annie and still only managed a few seconds.
Perhaps I will practise every day (if I remember).

Perhaps you'll sleep better at night if you no longer have an afternoon nap.

Anniebach I have been away from GN for a while so have just read this thread. My heartfelt sympathy for your loss. I cannot imagine how you feel. Be kind to yourself and remember all those good times and the wonderful tributes folk have paid to your daughter. The funeral service will be a wonderful celebration of the true person she was. My thoughts and prayers are with you. flowers

Thank you all.

Jamila, tried the balancing, did five seconds but cheated held onto kitchen sink

Twopence, thank you your words are comforting

Ginny, I didn't have a choice of flavours so had 30 of chocolate ! I find I no longer need to sleep in the afternoon so that's good. X

Glammanana, trying to work out how trying to increase weight and exercising at the same time will work

Balancing and cleaning teeth at the same time?!! That's a bit like rubbing your tummy and patting your head as far as I'm concerned. I just tried standing on one leg. Left leg managed ten seconds, right leg not at all - my balance has completely gone to pot!

Jalima1108 Wed 15-Nov-17 12:45:12

I don't know if you tried the balancing recommended on another thread annie - I tried it this morning when cleaning my teeth but can't balance for more than a couple of seconds without wobbling. Best not to try it with a toothbrush in your mouth hmm

Twopence Wed 15-Nov-17 12:34:13

This is the first time I have sent a post but have felt moved to add my sympathy to all the messages you have received at this sad time. It is hard to find words to express the sorrow I feel for you Annie, but I hope the following words will help bring you some comfort.
'Those we cherish never truly leave us. They live in us in the kindness they showed and the love they brought into our lives.'
God bless you and bring you peace.

Hope you're feeling a little stronger today Annie. The Ensure should be starting to give you more energy. Try sipping it through the day if you can't face too much of it. It kept me alive at one point when I was diagnosed with clinical starvation. I liked the coffee flavour best. Didn't care for the savoury ones at all, but did they give you a selection for you to try? Hugs for today. x

glammanana Wed 15-Nov-17 10:59:34

My thoughts are with you Annie and will say a special prayer for you all tonight when at Mass.
If possible when you are sitting down can you move your ankles around 10 times each way it will help with mobility a wee bit and start on the way to strengthening them has the therapist given you any chair exercises at all to help you ((hugs)) xx

Anniebach Wed 15-Nov-17 08:49:16

Thank you x

Thought for the day

I have to put on weight and at the same time start exercising ! confused

annsixty Wed 15-Nov-17 08:38:30

I have an acquaintance who has several illnesses and has lost loads of weight.
She was advised to stir dried milk, the Marvel type, into her full fat milk for use in porridge etc and to drink.
Maybe you could ask your dietician about this.
You need to stop the weight loss if possible even if you don't put any on for now.
My very best wishes and prayers are with you all the time.

Morning Annie - I hope you have a 'good' day. Try to eat and rest a little.

Swanny Tue 14-Nov-17 23:11:50

Sending you a gentle massage Annie with rose, geranium and lavender-scented oil in the hope it helps you sleep tonight and that you have happy dreams x

Jalima1108 Tue 14-Nov-17 22:42:48

We're all here, although I think we wish we could be doing more, bringing real roastchicken soup or other easy to eat foods.
I used to make small rice puddings (high in calories I think) for an old neighbour who was very poorly and he said sometimes it was all he felt like eating.

NfkDumpling Tue 14-Nov-17 22:42:17

Sleep well Annie. Night, night.

Anniebach Tue 14-Nov-17 22:37:28

Thank you all x

I have a small book by my bed, it has on each page a bible quote and a modern day interpretation.

Last week I open at a page, there was the quote and - if you have reached the point when you cannot go on never fear, God will send you reinforcements .

He certainly did, all you x

Those little bananas they sell for children’s lunch boxes are lovely. Much sweeter and flavoursome.

Jalima1108 Tue 14-Nov-17 22:28:55

A banana is supposed to be good last thing at night - they contain magnesium which is a muscle relaxant and also an amino acid (can't remember what) which converts to seratonin which I think helps you to sleep.
