Lost my five closest friends, one moved to live near her son, one has been taken very ill, something which caused veins in her head to swell, no idea what it's called, two died, one moved for change of job. Can't go to the church I attended for many years, have to go over the bridge, so please believe me this is not self pity, just explaining my isolation. And granddaughters both in university now. And Honey died .

Yep, your nephew was wrong in sharing what should have been confidential. And your family are surely wrong for not making any allowances for the stress you’ve been under. I’m an only child with no close cousins so family stuff is a bit of a mystery to me. Have you close friends near?

I can't blame face book, my nephew for opening the chat room even though private and my family for joining him there are fully responsible for their actions, good grief he is 50 years of age, he had my trust

Annie you are worth ten times your family members who have not spoken or written to you to offer condolences. Stay strong and don't be afraid to lean on your real friends. You are amazing

She is your daughter Annie and I think that any of us would have done the same under the circumstances to protect our child, even when they are adults.

I have (so far) only found FB to be a positive experience but I know that it has its evil, upsetting side and I am so sorry that you encountered this.

Others have said it all really Annie. Thinking of you always.

Think we would all do the same thing to protect our sick child Annie social media seems to bring out the worst in people at times.

I'm in agreement here. You did exactly what I would have done in similar circumstances Annie. We here, are all your extended virtual family, sisters all together. Our thoughts are all with you at this time.

When my grandchildren asked why I said - they are very Mid Wales and I am very South Wales . Some truth really, this area and the Merthyr area have always had problems. You can take a gal out of the valleys but can't take the valleys out of the gal.

It's one thing to be in a chat room with the person's consent and participation - quite something else to do what they did and so hurtful to read their gossip and comments about something they couldn't have known anything about! You did everything you could to protect your precious girl and it's hard to understand why they couldn't see that at the time - even worse now that they are still estranged at such a tragic time. I hesitate to say shame on them but it's probably how everyone would feel reading that.

Thinking of you every day Annie. So brave in your sadness - you are an inspiration.

I wish you peace in the days ahead and hope that you can finally get some rest. There are so many people sending supportive vibes. I hope they help, not just for the next seven days but in the weeks and months to come afterwards.

We will all be here with you annie and not just for the next seven days. Keep posting and share as many of your thoughts as you wish with us. No judgement here. I am praying for you to find some peace. Lots of kind people on here with thoughtful words that many can take comfort from. xx
