‘Other half’ is an interesting if you’re half of something, what’s it like when you become a half without the other half?

I hope I never find out ,I've always said if he dies first I'll follow quickly.I did know couples ,in fact one was my Aunt and Uncle who both died on a weekend ,he died on the Saturday and she on the Monday ,Very hard on their kids but she wouldn't have survived without him and it was what she would have wanted given the choice .

I'm still trying to establish myself as a seperate entity after 12 years. It's not easy though, especially if you are not working anymore.

I am lucky I still have my OH and cant imagine what it would be like. life would never be the same.

I suppose I was " young " enough at 54 in which to accept that my H of 34 years in 1994 wasn't going to be with me very long during his illness. However, had I been older ( there was an age difference ) I probably would have found it more difficult to accept, therefore suffering far more than I did.

I had no intentions of ever meeting anyone else so I suppose in a strange sort of way, he was still very much with me in spirit if not flesh, so yes, I can see how difficult it is to lose someone later in life.

What is a half without what makes it whole?
