Could you say to nephew what you’ve written here? You feel you both had an interesting childhood and hoped people might find that more pertinent to remember your brother by?

Why not try interspersing the facts with a little lightness about his, character , was he loving, happy , serious,kind did you share some sort of naughty behaviour when younger. A little story that would conjure up his character rather than just a list of achievements. I’m sure with a little thought you will convey both his personality and his accomplishments. Best wishes

I’ve said I’ll talk about my brother’s early years and sent a draft to his son, who is organising the funeral. Son replied nicely but said could I do anecdotes rather than facts?
No, I can’t, I can do a biography but not a series of funny stories about someone I’ve rarely met for the 50 years since we grew up.
We had an interesting childhood and I’ll be the only one there who knew him as child. Won’t biography do?
