Children’s books on bereavement

our GP recommended Tear Soup ,its a lovely book for young people ,you might get it on Amazon

Michael Rosen's "Book of Sad" is said to be recommended. SiL's father, a GP, had it in his surgery.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
When I lost my darling husband last year, our six year old granddaughter was bereft.
We found a lovely story about a Dragonfly, it really seemed to help. If you search for Dragonfly story you should be able to read it.

"Badgers Parting Gifts" by Susan Varley.
"The Tenth Good Thing about Barney" by Judith Viorst.
Neither was written recently, but still available. Recommended for younger children.

It was Waterbugs and Dragonflies, a wonderful book that our hospice uses for bereaved children. It uses the analogy of dragonfly larvae living in water and not being able to comprehend what life is like when they leave the water to become dragonflies.

Depending on their ages, one of the Mog books is good. I think it is Goodbye Mog.

Two of our dgds were really into Mog when their 'other' grandfather died and it helped them a lot.
