good morning,can i ask does anyone know of any suitable poems for the first anniversary loss of my dad,but for my mum who wants to put in the local paper she is very old fashioned like that,i don't know if its is done anymore but would make mum happy,the anniversay is in five weeks,i have looked at a few poems online but there is nothing that grabs me if that makes sense,so loss of a husband of 62 years,mum and i are still in the dad has not gone stage but i know certain things need to be done in a way that suits my mum least i can do for her.thank you.

I read Robert Burns' "Epitaph for my Friend" at my father's funeral. It suited him.

An honest man here lies at rest ,
As e’er God with His image blest :
The friend of man, the friend of truth
The friend of age, and guide of youth :
Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d
Few heads with knowledge so inform’d
If there’s another world, he lives in bliss
If there is none, he made the best of this

Foxgloves. We had this for my dad too - it was absolutely perfect for him.

The third verse from another Burns poem "MY love is like a red red rose.'
It starts
And I will love thee still my dear till all the seas go dry
Or a quote from one of your dads favourite songs if he had an appropriate one.
