I secretly dabbled with the idea of interior design but no one took me seriously in late '50s early '60s. So I went into nursing - for all the right reasons of course! I was impressed with the good-looking doctors during the open day at the teaching hospital. I fancied myself in a red-lined cloak... and finally I was won over by the fish and chips, apple pie and ice cream lunch which was on offer that day!
