What are you reading at the moment

Life After Life sounds good then! I've got three books on my kindle and two from Oxfam to read and then I'll get to it

At the moment, I`m in the middle of Every Dead Thing, by John Connelly. So many bodies already, and not halfway through yet!

Working my way through Rosie Thomas. All her books are so varied!

OOps that should read was up til 3.00am!

I am just reading it (Life After Life). I haven't been able to put it down. I was reading til 7.00am and was up reading again by 7.00.!!

I liked the Book Thief too. Also got the Hundred Year Old Man on my kindle ready to read.
Recently I've read the latest Donna Leon Brunetti novel. Very good but a grim ending. Also loved a quirky little e-book called Chimaera in my Wardrobe.
Has anyone read the latest Kate Atkinson?

Agree. It's one book that I can't forget and it went down very well with our book group. As it was written for teenagers/young adults, I can't wait for my 10-year-old Gd to be old enough to read it.

Just finished reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It's a beautiful and moving story and i couldn't put it down. A great read!

do you know I'm not sure? it's on my kindle so I just pick it up & read & don't see the name or author - it's about a summoner & attempts to take over the world by the norse gods - it's very good - amusing & witty

i started reading my james last night , it brought tears to my eyes . I lay awake most of the night thinking how could 2 little boys kill another . i finaly said a prayer for little James and his mum and dad and caught a hour or so's sleep .

At the moment I`m reading Phantom Evil, by Heather Graham, never read her before. It`s a thriller, but also verging on ghosts as well, set in New Orleans.

I am on holiday in India and thought ' I'll have a look at what everyone is reading' and saw your comments numberplease I nearly choked laughing. Easily done lol.
I also like the Dan Brown books but have just read Thursdays in the Park - Hilary Boyd not my usual at all but saw it recommended on Amazon. Couldn't put it down.
I'm halfway through East of the Sun - Julia Gregson which is looking like a really good read.

Have just finished "A half forgotten song" by Katherine Webb. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Has any one read "The legacy" by the same author please? I am thinking of getting it as I enjoyed this one so much.

Have just come back from holiday and have picked up my copy of Gone Girl, thank you Gransnet. When I was away I re read the entire series of Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin, which I love.

Yes, Elegran you just can't explain it to anyone!! Every episode is worth sharing and is not good for a train jorney are you keep bursting out laughing. A real cheer up..........................off to read a little (!) bit more

MercedesYang, have you read the other books by Dan Brown? If you like The Da Vinci Code, you`ll love the others as well.
Fever of the Bone was really good. I watched all the Wire in the Blood episodes on TV, but am sure that this story wasn`t one of them. Every time Dr. Tony Hill appeared, all I could imagine was Robson Green(e)!
Am now just starting on a James Patterson book from a few years back, Cross, that I was given the other day, can`t think how I missed it over the years. The beginning goes back to the murder of his wife in 1993. It`s bound to be a good read, all the Alex Cross books are.

I am reading that. When someone asks about it and you try to explain the plot it sounds off the wall - it is really funny, and somehow quite reasonable . . . .

We read Secret Life of Bees at Reading group last month & it went down very well indeed.
I think I preferred the Help myself though.
We are doing Unlikely Journey of Harold Fry this month- so far I am loving it.
Next month is Thoughts & Happenings of Wilfred Price which was recommended to me very highly by librarian- anyone read it?
