Hello kentgran. Your local library should have lists of book groups in the area. That's how I found mine. Good luck.

That's if you have a library. Our council cut back on library servceis and the rural visiting library van was axed, at which point several communitues, including ours, created community libraries, staffed by volunteers (I am one) and supplied with books from the county library.

Now the council is working on cuts to services and libraries and museums are on the front line. The current suggestion (against which we are all campaigning) is that the museums bufget be cut by 100% (yes - really) and the libraries by 75%.

How shortsighted of them to ignore out history and culture.

I confidently expect that our supply of community library books will dwindle away and we will be left to run and supply the whole service as volunteers. What a shame.
