Everyone knows The Woman In Black by Susan Hill, but she has written other very good books [Strange Meeting, set in the first World War] and a detective series featuring Simon Serrailer.

I was pleased as Punch when DGD1 told me she's doing The Woman in Black for GCSE. Lucky Girl!

I love the Simon Serrailer books. I think we have all of them so far.

I loved one of her early books, the autobiographical "The Magic Apple Tree".

Yes, I'm a fan too. I haven't read all her stories but the Serrailer series is excellent and many of her spooky tales are great.

Have read a good few, mainly the Simon Serailler series, love them. Wasn`t too impressed with The Woman in Black though.
