Does anyone know a good book on this subject?
I'd like to try it but do not want/have not got time to take a course. Plus they are VERY expensive round here.
I'd better post this on Health too I suppose. It may be more of a health thing.

Mark Williams of Cambridge Uni, who is conducting research into Mindfulness, has written books and his mp3s are good.

There are books on Mindfulness everywhere - check out Amazon. But I'd second the one by Mark Williams and Danny Penman. Excellent.

There's also one by Mark Williams and three others, including Jon Kabat-Zinn, called The Mindful Way through Depression.
And a workbook called The Mindful Way workbook, which is like taking a course, only from home.

Other than that, any CDs by Vidyamala Burch are excellent. Her voice is very soothing and grounding, as is Danny Penman's - there's a free CD accompanying his book 'Finding Peace in a Frantic World'.
