Finished this late last night. An excellent but unsettling read. Has anyone else read it?

Hi scaredycat I haven't read it but it looks really interesting, good reviews and currently only £1.80 on Kindle, so I've bought it with an upcoming holiday in mind ...thanks for the recommendation.

Same here. Just going to download it onto Kindle. Thanks.

I will have a look at it before I download it, but it's certainly cheap.

I think it is long listed for the Man Booker. Haven't read anything before by the author but will find out what else she has written. I'll be interested to hear what others think.

She also wrote The Jane Austen Book Club which I have read! Oops.

I read it on holiday and couldn't put it down. Difficult to discuss it without committing a spoiler! Highly recommended.

Just finished it and thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Oh rats; I've just read a Guardian Review which then goes on to tell the whole story sad....a thousand curses on them.....grrrr

annodomini Mon 01-Sep-14 15:05:04

That really is not on. The Guardian should know better.

I've nearly finished it. A wonderfully written book that made me re-assess my view on a lot of things - particularly certain psychological experimental methods that I don't remember questioning when I was studying psychology with the OU.

Tegan I'd read the Guardian review too and thought it might spoil the book for me, but it hasn't.

Eloethan; I've been thinking that and had decided to read it anyway...doing a long haul flight next week [gulp shock] and need an engrossing book to calm the nerves. It also encompasses several things I've read about/seen over the years, one of which [a film] I was only thinking about the other day. Hope they've got it at W H Smiths....

Good to read all your views. Thanks . Now reading A fine Balance for my reading group meeting.
