Best summer reads 2015 - win £500 of books!

I love sitting in the garden on a sunny day with a cup of coffee, a good book and watching the birds feeding from the various feeders in my garden. Also enjoy watching my two cats lying in the shade enjoying the warm weather.

My favourite thing about summer, after the hard work of planting veg in May and early June, is to sit in a sheltered spot with a book in hand and watch the garden grow. Summer is far too hot to work in the garden, apart from a bit of hoeing, so this is the time to watch nature at it's best. Flowers blooming, birds singing, nature's pantry growing apples and berries as butterflies, bees and an array of insects come fluttering and flying by. Bliss.

I think people are generally happier when the sun is shining, neighbours stop and chat and children play out. And I love to sit out in the garden and read, hopefully some new books!

I like the late nights and early mornings, having all that extra daylight to make the most of the long days. Lovely.

Well, apart from a great chance to read outdoors in the fresh air my favourite thing about summer is the longer hours of daylight. I always seem to get more done when it is light. Otherwise I start switching off when the lights are switched on.

Warmth, shirt sleeves and cold beer.

i'm not really a summer person, so i prefer to sit indoors with a fan and a good book!

My favourite thing about Summer is sitting in the beautiful garden,on the sun lounger with at least 4 books to choose from,then reading the one I think looks most enjoyable first!(not always the case��)

Long, light evenings and very light early mornings - makes the days seem endless!

I love the smell of a newly mown lawn - sitting out early evening, when its still warm but not too hot, with the fragrance of grass clippings and evening honeysuckle in the air, sipping a nice cold glass of something, preferably fizzy! If I close my eyes I'm already there

I love not having to wear loads of clothes.

My favourite thing about summer is the sunshine and the warmth! Makes me feel like eating lovely fresh salads and lots of delicious summer berries. I love to pick blackberries and make jam and blackberry and apple pies.

My favourite thing about summer as a keen DIYer is to be able to get things done outside when light in the evenings, ie home improvements which is just not possible later on in Autumn and Winter.

I love having BBQs and sitting out with a nice glass of wine...oh and time off work too
